Junior SQL Server Database Administrator - Position Open
We are looking for an enthusiastic Junior SQL Database Administrator to assist in the management, optimisation, and maintenance of database systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in database architecture, design, and administration, with a focus on SQL Server technologies.
Collaborate with the DBA team to support, troubleshoot, and optimise SQL Server databases to ensure efficient and reliable performance.
Assist in database design, including creating and maintaining tables, indexes, and views to support application needs.
Perform maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
Assist in monitoring database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and recommending solutions to enhance overall system performance.
Assist in data migration and integration tasks, ensuring seamless and accurate data movement between different environments.
Collaborate with other team members to optimise queries and enhance database performance.
Implement and maintain security best practices, ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive data.
Contribute to documentation efforts for database design, configuration, and operational procedures.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in database administration.
Hands-on experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
Solid understanding of database architecture and design principles.
Knowledge of SQL Server database administration, backup, and recovery processes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Relevant certifications in database administration (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate).
Exposure to performance tuning and optimisation techniques.
Competitive salary between £27,000 – £37,000.
